TERRA'S PAST AND OTHER SUCH THINGS

Years ago, before the Terra became nations, there were kingdoms by nearly the same name. There were benevolent kingdoms and malevolent, just and fair, wicked and terrible. The documents have been lost to the history books but there was a war between kingdoms, so terrible, that in truth, it should have never been. They say a summon known as Geodome came from beneath the Earth, rudely awakened by the cruel Kingdom known as Galia. It was ugly and wanted nothing but to destroy the world and lay it to ruin.

The prince of Galia, Rion Ferris, junctioned that GF and started taking over each kingdom. He was unjustified entirely, evil, no mercy for the weak was his motto. Brave heroes fought back, adoptive children of the king Kingdom of Isolode. Princes and Princesses who were trained in battle, not because they were made to but because they had read a fated text about the future of their world and wanted to save it from unneeded destruction. They believed in a a greater force above, beyond the skies, one that called the rest of the summons and gave them power.

So, they started praying and were lead to summons that were benevolent in spirit. Some of them were Ifrit, Shiva, Bamahut, Eden, Carbuncle, Tonberry King, Knights of the round table, Alexander and Quezitcoal , they gave their power and some more for what was needed for the battle ahead. Back then, they say, summons didn't take away your memories. So, these twelve were blessed with the power, the bond to remember each other and fight until their dying breaths.

The last battle for Terra took place near Trabia. On a snow covered piece of island, surrounded by forest. Against Rion, the many brothers and many sisters waged war and won but not without battle wounds so deep they lay dying in the snow with their surrounding army. As some of them took their last breath, the Earth shook but they weren't scared, many of them laid together, one sister and one brother was missing, and they knew the benevolent being in the skies was strickened by their oncoming deaths. It was strange for them, the texts say, Terra started splitting, they knew he was separating the kingdoms to avoid easy war in the future.

The brother and sister who were alone, they were both dying but the man was more fatally wounded. She clung to him quietly and he took his last breath. Elsewhere, the seven took their last breaths. She remained and she asked to be put to sleep, she knew what the being wanted to do. She whispered her thanks and smiled. She probably would have survived, but he knew without her brothers and sisters she'd never be happy again, especially the one who lay still against her. She brushed a hand through his damp hair and closed her eyes. She felt herself leave her body and that was it.

----------------------------------------------------------------

What's more known about what happened after that war. There was a lot less blood shed in the future, they rebuilt, no one was cruel enough to do what Rion did again. Stories of the royal siblings from Isolode spread like wildfire, but their bodies were never found. Their father and mother were devastated but they knew, the world was safe because of the higher being, the summons and their childrens' efforts to help clean away evil from the world.

Five hundred years later, Terra is thriving and a new religion was introduced twenty five years prior. Well, some say the world's first acknowledged religion. Hyphonian. Dedicated to the sudden magic users and their fluud, Hyne, who made them. 'Natural' magic hadn't been a thing since magic was taken from the world but children were born forty-five years ago, left and right yet still rare and they came to be known as Sorceresses and Sorcerers. It then became common practice as years went by that they had knights and knightresses by their sides, to protect them from the ignorant who didn't understand, especially as they learned and grew in their powers.

In that five hundred years since they've lived, that religion came and churches are everywhere for them, with fewer churches being for other such things, especially for the higher being that's spoken about in ancient texts. Priestesses and Priests are ordained at Hyphonian churches, some have some 'natural' magic, while others really don't. Hyphonian has gained trust over the years and teaches there will be another world war and the sorceresses and sorcerers will have to be trusted. Their main ambassador and leader is the sorceress known as Nolie, she is basically the pope of this world and anything she says goes, undeniably. At least for continents who have accepted her rule as absolute.

Meanwhile...there are other things going on in the world of Terra, things terrible and things good. Please read on to find out the truth yourself about this world.

THE TROUBLE WITH KILIJOLYONS

In what would be considered FF9's continent, there is someone other than Kuja at the helm of trouble. His name would be Andrela, the new ruler of Alexandria who kicked Princess Garnet and her family from their thrones. He has too much power on this continent and his rule is spreading further and further. Thirty percent, at least, is covered and ruled by Andrela. His army pilfers and steals from villages, cities, and towns. They also turn the people there into personal slaves. It's becoming increasingly difficult to find hope among them, and even more difficult to get what is needed from outside trades unless you follow and listen to this cruel ruler.

Pockets of resistance are springing up in trapped cities and then others are springing up before Andrela and his army invade. An underground city is being built in the east, a counterstrike to make sure people survive. There are rumors that Andrela is considering some sort of camp set up and no one feels good about it. The resistance calls themselves Freedom Fighters. They have every means to protect themselves and they have a good feeling about winning this war. The underground city that is being built has their headquarters.

THERE ARE MONSTERS AMONG US! SOME OF THEM...HUMAN

During Ivalice's 100 year peace, military schools gathered dust and monsters gained dramatic numbers leading to terror in the forests, streets and sometimes even homes. Not so strangely, this lead to the idea that military schools should reopen and train those who were willing to learn, so they could keep the monster numbers down and protect themselves as well. This worked for while, people did as described and were paid handsomely for the help they provided. Monster pelts and some monster meats gave mercernaries more bang for their buck but then...gangs started, some demanding money in exchange for help from those who could take care of themselves or even causing terror in neighborhoods, taking over pieces of land that don't belong to them.

It's not very pretty at the moment and the monarchy of this region doesn't know how to handle it very well. There are too many civilians joining gangs and wrecking havoc. It would seem warfare is on the horizon for this continent between the people (mostly gangs) and royalty, and their rusty armies. Only time will tell if peace can be achieved again. What a tremoulous past they've had and yet they can't seem to escape bloodshed, no matter what.

PLANOS HAS THE LIFESTREAM

In the land the Planos, they revere Terra as The Planet. Some here, even say: Terra is alive and able to communicate, especially through something called the lifestream. Scientists from all over have been baffled for centuries about such things, time and time again, but they never get this so called underground river to talk. It does glow strangely and seem full of some kind of microrobe but otherwise, it couldn't be anything other than ordinary. They say the cetra, people native to this region could talk to it whenever possible and yet only now a few remain in the world, and they don't reveal Planos' secrets.

There is war like many other continents on the horizon, between Wutai and Midgar over what else but land that lays between them. Owners/Mayors are wanting to sell and these two countries can't agree on much of anything. Who should get what? Who deserves more? Of course, Midgar, cutthroat and serious, demands more than their fair share. Wutai on the other hand wants almost equal rights, but there is one extra plot they want. Claiming this is not due to power or preteige but rather land owning only.

What makes this so bad? Both Midgar and Wutai have SOLDIER programs, and yet they have completely different fighting styles. Junon too has a SOLDIER program, but they are staying out of this one. These three countries aren't the only ones with fighting programs, but rather several countries have their hands in their own personal battlions. What make SOLDIER so special? They are injected with watered down liquid Mako, which makes them stronger, faster, better, stronger and sometimes even perfect tactarians. Bloodshed has happened over and over again because of these programs. Some say it protects from outsiders of Planos but others say one day only those in SOLDIER will be remain, along with wives, daughters and sons. Perhaps the family pet.

PEACE UPON PEACE WITH A PROPHECY

For some reason in the land of Spira, there hasn't been a war in over 370 years. Peace prevades, people are happy. Summoners and mages are often born here however, those who have high intense energy at birth and glow like a radiant light upon exiting their mother. They tend to grow up learning to summon through materia or use spells through materia. Sometimes they leave the trade and persue other lifestyles, which is only understandable. Anyway, something about this region, produces high energy children and many seem to think it's all the peace, celebrations and good times Spira has.

Ancient texts however speak of something coming in the future. A monster unlike any monster ever seen, referred to as Syn. They say summoners and mages would gather to destroy it. It is supposed to take out each continent, which is why so many are worried and trying to get more people over to Spira to birth children during this time. They don't know when it will come, or how it will come to be honest. Meanwhile, Spira is also the blitzball and spheregrid capitol of the world. It's where the sports originated, just like Triple Triad originated in Ganosh. It would seem Blitzball season is upon us and coming up fast.

WHAT THE HYNE!

The normal thing around Terra is that everything uses energy, including materia. The land of Ganosh (FF8) used to junction magic and they were the only ones that did. Everyone else used energy, but junctioning was spreading. There were drawpoints with magicks, that after a time the Terra would shake around them and eventually they all fizzled out or exploded, causing them to be unusable. This included monsters no longer carrying magicks. Junctioning ceased to exist, just like that. So, Ganosh, like the rest of the world resorted back to materia use. They said magicks were easier, but came to find that Materia was less dangerous and good for Terra.

Then sorcerers and sorceresses came over forty-six years later. Children born with innate magic abilities, needing to draw nothing from anything or anyone. Sorcerer and sorceresses are revered as something special but many have begun not trusting them because of the religion they created called Hyphonian. Churches have sprung up in the last twenty-nine years dedicated to the fluud, which means influencer. Churches have also spread to Spira as well and Ivalice.

Meanwhile there are such a thing as Gardens, military schools where young ones twenty-five and under are training everyday to be soldiers and mercernaries to keep peace on their continent and beyond if needed. They certainly don't trust sorcerers and sorceresses. They ban them from entering their schools even, some see this as prejudice but what point is there when Gardens use materia, regular fighting skills and such. Right now there are normal plights on Ganosh that are constantly be taken care of by SeeD.
