Continent of Ivalice
Ivalice seems to live a little in a past world, where technology is still oohed at, there isn't really television and people tend to have a mob sort of mentality here when it comes to judging others. However, this continent has a lot of things to discover, including valuables and all else. There are missions to be given at plenty of mission outposts near the cities, and even taverns have secret missions too if you ask the barkeep. Actually, the better missions come from the barkeeps, rather than the mission outposts to be honest.
Ivalice, despite it's age old thinking, is beautiful however and very much worth exploring at every turn. Only 80% of the continent has been discovered entirely by adventurers, and people are still finding secret places today. I warn, monsters roam sometimes inside city walls because the continent is overpopulated with them. It's caused citizens to learn job classes to keep down the numbers, but it's also caused a lot of gangs inside city walls.
GUILLIONE
This kingdom has an electic feel. Where one place might be lush, another might be rocky and tough in the terrian. It's still pretty to look at and there's lots to explore. There are four major cities.
Merchant City Of Dorter (This city is full of nothing but people selling things on the street, from food to wares, to battle items and weapons. Usually when someone wants something hard to come by in Terra, they come here)
Castled City Of Zaland (This city is inside four walls, cut off from the rest of the world. People rarely leave and need a permit to do so, but imports and exports come and go. People also need permission to come inside, checked over by the King Leonard's advisors. It's actually beautiful inside, with lush gardens and ponds and several beautiful shops and inns)
Balias Swamp (You have to pass through these marshlands before getting to the other two cities, it's difficult as there are lots of monsters around and sometimes there's murky swamp waters hiding around)
Port City Of Warjilis (This city relies on fishing exports to keep alive. They have plenty of fish and seafood to go around. It might remind one of old New England before it became modern. People have a thick accent that sounds almost British and the salty sea air keeps everyone alive.)
CLockwork City of Goug (This is Ivalice's most technology advanced city, it looks a bit steampunk and they're always coming up with new inventions to help out the world. They work on airships an awful lot, and theirs tend to be sorely sought after for all their upgrades and attachments. They also have a lot of machinists as well and there's a giant clock in the middle of town that goes off every hour on the hour called Huge Henry)
Golith Mountains (Named for the fact that ice giants roam here, it tends to be a cold area with lots of cold air and sometimes freezing temperatures at night. You have to pass through here to discover things about the rest of the country, to get to the other side and pass through onto the next country anyway. Unless you have an airship, well, then you're set.)
Ballas Tor Ruins (These are the ruins of what seem think to be an ancient civilization that disappeared hundreds of years ago. It's been picked clean trough by travelers but people still discover things anyway. It's strangely beautiful in it's vegetation, and climbing vines. Monsters roam but it's still safe for camping in certain spots that are stable)
Gollagada Cave (This is a massive cave that goes at least 300 miles deep. Discovered so by someone who decided to find out. It's unexplored to a point and there's plenty of stuff to find. It has jewel encrusted ceilings and walls, shining light makes it sparkle and shine. Like any cave, there's mentions of a legendary monster you might enncounter but no one has run into anything but ordinary cave monsters instead. )
Races: Humans, LionFaeries, Mermaids, Elves and Werewolves.
Transportation: Airships, boats, cars, chocobo.
Inns: Inns cost anywhere from 50 to 200 a night, they're usually comfortable and inviting save for a few swarmy Innkeepers. You can also camp.
LIONEL
Is a large kingdom, full of lush watrfalls, green hills and plains and plenty of cities, towns, caves and ruins to get lost in. There are three major cities in total, one village.
Eagrose City & Castle (This is where you'll find a very kingdomly place to live, clean air, fresh food on the streets, and somewhat congested. The Castle is gorgeous and ruled by King Earl Gourd and his queen Vannesa Gourd. They have several little princesses and princes.)
Energy City Of Garliland (Instead of using mako to power their energy, they use a huge piece of materia they found underneath the Earth 130 years ago that produces electricity and powers the whole city. It's estimated that it'll last another 1'000 years before they have to look toward other means to power their homes and work spaces. The city itself has a lively night life with taverns booming in customers. They also have ice skating and rollerblading competitions every spring and summer)
Siege Weald City (This city is a poor man's dream. Houses are cheap, everything is grown locally nearby and other products tend to be inexpensive as well. It's congested because of the cost of living and sometimes people are turned away by the Mayor if he feels they aren't a good fit for the city)
Lenalian Village (It's a small village of 80 people. Here they tend to live on farmland and work hard for the day's meal. They're a bit backgrounds and have what seem like americanized country accents)
Mandalia Plains (There are a few hills but it's a beautiful plain of wilderflowers, a river, streams, camping spots and an outpost for travelers that offers tents. There's monsters that roam but it's great to hone your skills)
Mandalia Forest (A huge and thick tree covered forest that isn't safe to camp in, there's monsters everywhere but there's actually a lot of caves here, so best be prepared to do some exploring. )
Telebetha Ruins (This used to be the biggest city in Lionel, but bad things happen and the war that happened years ago brought it to ruin. There's so much to discover but monsters are teeming here, so watch your step.)
Races: Humans, LionFaeries, Werewolves
Transportation: Airships, boats, chocobo
Inns: The Inns run anywhere from 30 dollars a night to 100 dollars a night. They're usually comfortable. There's also the prospect of camping as well.
LIMBERRY
Limberry is a teeny tiny country but there's still a lot of unexplored land. There's a volcano that hasn't erupted in six hundred years, but lately ash has been blowing everywhere from the mouth and it might be time for it to go off.
Limberry City and Castle (Limberry City is a really big city with a populace of 80,000. It's a bit tech savvy but nothing like goug. Nearby is a farming community, considered part of the city and usually they use local foods instead of imports to get by. The castle houses King Marcus and his three wives, there are many children in his household ranging from two to sixteen. He's been um...busy. He's a just and fair king though, people just wonder how he handles family life with all those kids)
Lake Poecas and Forest (It's a beautiful forest with very few monsters to fight and the ones that are? Usually only take elemental damage. The lake is gorgeous, especially at night as it seems to give off an ethereal blue like glow. There's even a man-made beach, picnic tables and old-school grills set up as well.)
Douvardeer Marsh and Ruins (They say it was never a beautiful city, more run down and poor. It was overrun by monsters and the Mayor, stupid as he was, let off bombs everywhere decimating the city. Everyone warned him, but now they've moved to Limberry and we'll never see this city thrive again. However, there is plenty to discover and unturn at every corner. Just be wary of the monsters, and dead bodies you might find in certain areas. They're not %100 skeletons yet, this happened two years ago. There is also a marsh near by and that's never fun, it's heavy with monster activity)
Beddha Dessert (It's a short-lived desert but guess what? You can really hone your skills here with all the monsters roaming. Giant Scorpions and Sand Spiders, and wild sand beavers that offer gifts in exchange for food. There's a lagoon if you can find it and a cave next to it with an items and equippable shop. They sell water and food as well. Only necessary, of course.)
Races: Humans, and Elves.
Transportation: Airships, boats, chocobo.
Inns: There's camping but the Inns in Limberry City run from 50 to 150 a night. Comfy, free food and drink, even free laundry.
ZELTINNA
Another small country, there's a small kingdom town where the king resides and a huge city fifty miles away. It's rocky terrian,
Zeltinna Town and Castle (King Zeltz lives here with his wife Sarai. He's a fair and just king, ruling over his small territory. He keeps peace with the nearby city so neither try overruling the other. People work hard here, all the time and tend to be interesting characters)
Trade City Of Sol Ghidos (You can guess it. Lots of bartering happens around here as it's overcrowded with item shops of all sorts, people even barter on meats. It's like live-action ebay up in this grill. It's also fairly large with a population of 40,000, housing prices vary and it's your typical run of the mill town at the end of the day)
Finnas Creek and Forest (There's a fairly large creek that kids from Zeltinna town tend to swim and play in, the forest is big too and has a lot of benevolent creatures, well as a few monsters. It's a good place to catch a chocobo)
Chocobo Farm (Outside the creek and forest is a farm that takes care, raises and breeds chocobos. It's considered the best in the region, so chocobo racers tend to come over here and buy their breeds)
Mount Germinas (It's over run by feral wolves and Balisiks. Only a well trained fighter would want to pass through here with a party of at least three. Otherwise take your butt elsewhere and travel elsewhere)
Races: Humans, LionFaeries, Werewolves, Some vampires have made themselves known.
Transportation: Airships, boats, chocobo.
Inns: There's two Inns in Balamb Town. One is fancy, the other more bed and breakfast humble. The fancy one is 100 Gil a night and the bed and breakfast is 50 gil a night.
FOVOHAM
It's kind of a darkish country with a lot of harsh land. Small in it's size but most people that travel here are looking for a fight, not scenery viewing.
Riovanes City and Castle (It's a steel mill city, lots of smog and smoke fill the air. You'll find people cough, plenty of reasons to leave. Stone cobbled roads with Chocobo carriages upon them, and boats leaving port. The King is Ezekiel the red, former undefeated knight who inherited the throne through the previous King's will. Considering Zeke is still 'grieving'. He's left the city to advisors and other parts of the monarchy, while he drinks all day)
Walled City Ruins (monsters so tough, you'll need an ice giant as a party member. It's a good time to put all you learned to use here, because they drop crazy good loot and the place is worth exploring to find even more. There are a few places to camp considering how vast this place is, and deep it goes)
Yardow Woods and Lake (Yet another grinding place, full of monsters but also home to the mixing of Starfaeries and Dark Elves. They live in a village at the very end of the forest, and tend to be wary of outsiders. The lake has crystal clear waters, a diving board put in by humans, and a sandy beach. There's a few caves in the forest worth exploring as well, two are shallow, while the third and hardest to find is quite deep)
Windgail Flat Lands (Sometimes tornandoes pass by here during the spring months, when there's lots of rain and wind. It's actually teeming with monsters, with very few places to camp. Still, test your skills if you wish.)
Gorgon Outpost (Shop and Inn) - They offer ferry rides to the next country over, which is Lesalia. They allow chocobos on board. They also have hard to come by equippables and weapons, not to mention a few summon materia for much cheaper. It's random what they have in though. The Inn costs 200 Gil a night, but you might want to fork it over and rest in a comfortable bed before traveling on
Races: Humans, StarFaeries & Dark Elves.
Transportation: Airships, boats, chocobo.
Inns: The Inns vary from 100 to 300 a night.
LESALIA
With the capitol currently under fire with a plague like disease, people have been avoiding this continent. Only the brave are willing to come here, especially those who need Lesalia's exports.
Royal City and Castle Of Lesalia (This Kingdom isn't as royal as it seems, it's currently stricken with disease. Everyone is being warned away)
Gollund Mining Town (They mine for two things: Materia and Coal. It's a family oriented town as well with a lot of festival gatherings and churches toward a just and loving god. One church is dedicated to Hyphonian and it's gaining followers. The plague hasn't reached here.)
Free City of Bervenia (It's another religious city, they believe in a just and loving god but now there are three churches for Hyphonian and tensions are rising between these religions. Petty underhanded things are being done between them. It doesn't help that gangs and monsters are starting to overrun the city either, with gangs claiming they won't clean out the monsters unless they're paid hndsomely)
Mount Bervenia (It's a small mountain, that's easy to pass. Some monsters reside here, but mostly they're small fries)
Besselet Forest (It's a big and beautiful forest with waterfalls and small lagoons, teeming with peaceful creatures like chocobo and unicorns. Not many monsters enter here, which leads to many to wonder why. There is a huge purple materia in the middle of the forest, caught in the ground and unable to be unearthed. This could be the culprit)
Douglas Pass (This was taken over by gangs months ago, you may have to fight to get through to Zerichelle falls because they want you to pay 5,000 gil just to pass to the other side. No one's been able to travel this way for awhile without getting their butts handed to them)
Zerichelle Falls (A semi-desert city that's been hit hard lately because of the Douglas pass problem. They're not getting their imports like usual and they usually have to pay an extra 5'000 gil just to get what they need, which jacks up the prices in town. Despite that it's still a beautiful big town, with plenty of people. Just affording to live there right now is impossible)
Zekelaus Desert (This vast, hilly and beautiful desert has cactus everywhere. There's plenty of lagoons, a couple Inns along the way and plenty of tough monsters to fight.)
Grough Ruins (A desert set of ruins, where a big town once lay. People explore here all the time, and turn up nothing but truth is, there's hidden quicksand in certain areas and they're afraid to explore here too deeply.)
Araguay Port (After leaving Grough Ruins, you'll find this port that houses boats and airships. It also includes a ferry if you're not willing to buy one of those. There's an expensive Inn (300 Gil) Inn and even a restaurant with good seafood)
Races: Humans, Elves, Werewolves, Some Avians.
Transportation: Airships, boats, chocobo.
Inns: Several Inns to go around, priced from 100 to 400 a night. You can also camp.
